Grocery List Maker is engineered with a strict privacy-first, offline architecture:

Zero Mandatory Accounts: You are never required to register an account, sign in, or provide personal details (such as your name, phone number, or email address) to use the Application.
100% Local Data Storage: All shopping lists, item names, quantities, unit prices, category configurations, custom notes, and budget limits created by you are stored exclusively on your device using encrypted Android Room Database and SharedPreferences.
User-Controlled File Exports: When exporting your grocery data (JSON backup or CSV spreadsheet), files are written strictly to local device storage destinations selected by you via the official Android Storage Access Framework (SAF). We do not transmit or sync your backup files to external servers.

2. Android System Permissions Used

To deliver core utility features, network functionality, and notification alerts, the Application requests the following standard Android permissions:

Internet Access android.permission.INTERNET

Required to load dynamic AdMob ad content, retrieve app maintenance/update statuses, and register push notification tokens.

Network State Access android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Allows the Application to verify whether an active Wi-Fi or cellular data connection is available before making network requests.

Post Notifications android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Required on Android 13 (API level 33) and higher to display optional push notifications regarding app features or updates.

3. Third-Party Services & Ad Networks

To keep the Application completely free for all users, we integrate trusted third-party SDKs that may collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic information and advertising identifiers in compliance with Google Play Developer Policies:

Google AdMob (Google LLC)

Used to render banner, interstitial, app open, and native advertisements. Google AdMob may automatically process device advertising IDs (GAID), network IP addresses, and general interaction metrics for ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud detection.
