Welcome to Note Safe ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles your data when you use Note Safe.

1. Information Collection & Local Storage

We believe your personal thoughts and confidential notes belong exclusively to you:

• Local SQLite / Room Database: All notes, checklists, folders, and tags created in Note Safe are securely saved locally on your device storage.
• No Cloud Sync: We do not operate cloud servers or synchronization backends for your notes. Your data stays on your hardware unless you manually create an encrypted offline backup file.
• Authentication & Security: Your security PIN or biometric vault preferences are managed locally via cryptographic hashing and secure Android KeyStore APIs. We do not have access to your PIN or vault contents.

2. Third-Party Services & Advertisements

To support ongoing app development, maintenance, and ensure the app remains free to use, Note Safe integrates trusted third-party services:

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and app open ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID) and network information to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads in compliance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• OneSignal Push Notifications: Used for sending important updates, announcements, or reminders. OneSignal may collect push tokens and general anonymous device metadata.
• App Updates & Maintenance Checks: The app connects securely via HTTPS to check for critical application updates (Google Play App Update API) and server maintenance status. Note contents are never transmitted during these requests.

3. Device Permissions

Note Safe requests only the permissions necessary to deliver its core productivity and security features:

• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for loading advertisements (AdMob), receiving notifications (OneSignal), and checking update/maintenance statuses.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Allows the app to display reminders or notification alerts (Android 13+).
• VIBRATE: Provides tactile haptic feedback during UI actions and PIN code entry.

4. Data Security & Protection

We employ robust security safeguards to protect your information:

• AES-256-GCM Encryption: Sensitive vaults and password-protected backup archives utilize hardware-backed AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption.
• Screenshot & Screen Protection: Optional app security settings (`FLAG_SECURE`) block system screen captures and app switcher thumbnail leaks.

5. Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. Note Safe is designed as a general-audience productivity tool.

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any modifications will be posted directly on this page with an updated revision date. You are encouraged to review this page from time to time.
